SHAOLIN MARTIAL ARTS: KUNG-FU & TAI CHIYou may think that traditional Shao-Lin (Shaolin) Kung fu (Gong fu or Kung-Fu), or any true Chinese Martial Art, can only really be learned from a monk in some secluded Shaolin monastery on one of central China's many mountain peaks. Not so! This 1500 year old system of Chinese martial arts developed for health, mental and physical fitness, and self-defense, has long since migrated to the West and continues to be taught and overseen today by Sin Kwang Thé, the current 10th degree Shao-lin Grandmaster (pictured below). It encompasses empty hand styles, weapon styles, and animal styles. Internal areas include Tai Chi (Taiji), such as Ch'i Kung (Qigong), Pa Kua (Bagua), Hsing-I (Xingyi), and ancient breathing & meditation techniques.
